Diamond Saw Blade is a cutting tool widely used for processing hard and brittle materials such as concrete, refractory materials, stone, ceramics, etc. The diamond saw blade mainly consists of two parts: the base and the blade segment. The base serves as the primary supporting part that bonds the blade segment, while the blade segment is the cutting part during use. The blade segment wears out during use, but the base does not. The blade segment can perform cutting because it contains diamond, the hardest material. The diamond in the blade segment grinds and cuts the material being processed, and the diamond particles are encapsulated in metal within the blade segment.
Classification by Manufacturing Process
1. Sintered Diamond Saw Blade: This is divided into cold-pressed sintering and hot-pressed sintering, which are formed through pressing and sintering.
2. Welded Diamond Saw Blade: This includes brazed and laser-welded blades. Brazing involves melting a medium at high temperature to bond the blade segment to the base, such as with high-frequency induction brazing blades and vacuum brazing blades. Laser welding uses a high-temperature laser beam to melt the edge of the blade segment and the base, forming a metallurgical bond.
3. Electroplated (Brazed) Diamond Saw Blade: The blade segment powder is attached to the base through electroplating. Since 2012, the production of electroplated diamond products has gradually been discontinued in the country due to significant pollution concerns.
Classification by Appearance
1. Continuous Rim Blade: The diamond saw blade with continuous teeth is generally made through sintering and often uses bronze as the bonding agent for the core material. Water must be added during cutting to ensure cutting efficiency. There are also types with laser-cut slots in the blade segment.
2. Segmented Blade: The blade teeth are separated, allowing for faster cutting speed, and are suitable for both dry and wet cutting methods.
3. Turbo Blade: This combines the advantages of the first two types. The teeth are continuous and arranged in a uniform, turbine-like pattern, improving cutting speed and increasing the blade's lifespan.
Different types of diamond saw blades are selected for different materials, and various powder formulations are suited to the characteristics of different materials. These choices directly affect the product’s quality, performance, yield rate, cost, and efficiency.
The factors influencing the efficiency and lifespan of diamond circular saw blades include sawing process parameters and the diamond's grit size, concentration, and binder hardness. The process parameters include the blade's linear speed, cutting concentration, and feed rate.
